Tempest Squadron Report
6\9\01

-Squadron Orders-
-Fly FREE-TIE #33(included) for the revived BGAPL. Granted there can only be one winner per squadron, but let's keep our usual 100% activity up and get this finished! These files are due to me by the 17th.

-Be prepared to fly the battle of choosing for the WC's new comp coming soon. This will actually be a challenging one for us, because it won't be the simple bashing comp that we win so easily. However, participation will count for something so I know I can count on that to help us get ahead!

-Be prepared to do some serious flying for a competition with Praetorian Squadron, an elite squadron, starting the 16th and ending the 30th. This will be our hardest competition yet, and we will need to put *serious* time into it if we have any hope of winning. Details will be released next week(though some of our resourceful members have already found out a detail or two off of imperialacademy.org :P)

-Continue to participate in the Wing comps, such as the webhunt and trivia

-Squadron News-

-In case you noticed, a few orders have been replaced by a few new ones. Basically, I want us to really concentrate on these two comps only this month. I would love to see us pull ahead in the Wing comp, and guys, we're facing an *elite* squadron(in case that hasn't sunk in ;)) Basically I had the choice of fighting more squadrons around the battlegroups and beyond and winning, because we're good pilots and we always have perfect participation, or I could give us a real challenge. Something we'd all need to work our butts off for, a comp we could lose because we didn't fly hard enough. I decided on the second option, and from talking to a few of you that's the only option you guys would have wanted. Next week we'll beging on our biggest challenge yet... let's hope Tempest can again rise to the occasion!

-Congratulations to the now LCM Alimet on his promotion. Alimet is a fine pilot who definetley deserved this honour and I was proud to give it to him(even if he is a bit addicted to fallout tactics at the moment ;))

-A big thanks to CM Kaneda Pellail, who(with small assistance from me) has almost completed the new Tempest page! Hopefully it'll be up soon, so stop by http://www.tempestsquadron.com and see if it's up eh? Flight pages will hopefully be coming soon, and CM Sephiroth has already put up the basic format of the FL2 page at http://www.tempestsquadron.com/Flight2/

-A few awards have been going around for missions, only this time it's not Master and Alimet, but McCollum and Macintosh! What is it about that Lieuteant rank in Tempest that gets people flying ;) Keep up the great work guys, I love my email box being flooded by TFRs!

-Tragedy has struck my computer as my modem has broke... however I ressurected a old comp with a working 14.4 modem on it, so basically nothing TC-wise will be effected. In other words, you won't notice any difference, however they sure is one WORLD of difference for me!

-Wing News-

-As mentioned before, we are working on a new comp that will be coming out soon.

-Well, congrats to me as I am now the #1 talker on #ISD_Challenge on mIRC, as I have surpassed CoHo's number 1 rating. 84159 words. I do NOT have a life ;)

-Fleet News-

-A new bylaw has been passed. Since this is a rare event and rather important news (GA Ronin *actually* *posted* something on tc.org) I'll be copying and pasting it here if you have not yet read it.

"Leadership positions within the Emperor's Hammer and its Subgroups are integral to the on-line experience of all members and the voluntary application and assumption of such duties is welcomed, encouraged, and appreciated. However, because of the importance of continuity in leadership in maintaining the organization, if a Member accepts such a position, receives a related Rank promotion and then resigns within an inappropriately short time (e.g. less than 6 months for Command Staff positions), the Member may be demoted to the Rank they were before application for the command position.
In particular, the Command Staff Positions require the utmost dedication and serious commitment. These volunteer officers, through their hard work and organization, hold the Emperor's Hammer together. Members frivolously applying for and then resigning from these Positions (i.e. to get a quick jump in Rank) may be subject to inquiry by the High Court of the Inquisitors for violation of the various rules and regulations of this club. This policy shall be effective for all appointments after July 1, 2001."

I strongly support and agree with this new bylaw. The Admirality ranks lack the importance and respect they once had, and I hope this will help to bring about a change in that.

-If you can think up a name for a medal for a battle that has yet to recieve one, please send your idea to FA Starlion(starlion@hutley.com) and FA Howlander (ops@emperorshammer.org)

-Emperorshammer.ca will be shutting down soon, and thus goes all the sites with it. I can't say I'm surprised at all. Good thing me and Seph had the forsight to register tempestsquadron.com!

-Applications for hosts for the ASF Comp and EuroLoc multiplayer comps are being taken(personally I've applied for ASF Comp as I love that comp with a passion and it IS my Wednesday Nights :)) If you're intrested in hosting one of those, email VA WetWilly(wetwilly@jedi.nu)

-The resuls for the EH vs LSF comp are finally out, with a EH victory! Unfortunetly there was low turn-out... I was there for a few days and it seemed the common problem was that there was always too many of the same club. Plus the LSFers were great XvT pilots(I only scored one victory)!
